Image Annotation: Basaloid follicular neoplasm arising in a Patched +/- mouse treated with ionizing radiation. The tumor is composed of cords of basaloid cells and as in skin_127, contains foci resembling germinative follicles. In addition, a keratocyst that contains several hair fragments is present. The overall features are similar to human trichoblastomas, however keratocyst are more typically seen in human trichoepitheliomas. A slightly different histologic pattern is present in other areas of this tumor. Marcus Bosenberg
