Image Annotation: Human skin reconstruct composed of normal fibroblasts and keratinocytes derived from neonatal foreskin and melanocytes from an adult melanoma patient which were grafted onto a SCID mouse and harvested after one month. The hyperplastic squamous epithelium is well formed and overlies a cellular dermis containing host (mouse) derived vessels. Careful inspection reveals junctional melanocytes (with relatively pale cytoplasm) which are more easily seen with immunoperoxidase stains (see skin_86).
