Mouse - Skin - skin_137.tif
Image Name: skin_137.tif
Image Annotation: The sarcomatous component of a nodular tumor arising in a Patched+/- mouse treated with ultraviolet radiation and oral arsenic also depicted in skin_135 and skin_133. The bulk of the tumor was composed of sheets and fascicles of spindle cells. While the appearance of the sarcomatous component is most in keeping with that of sarcoma (i.e. mesenchymal derivation), spindle cell carcinomas can have a very similar appearance and have been observed at higher frequencies in UV irradiated mice (see also skin_139, skin_45-47).
