Image Annotation: Malignant spindle cell neoplasm arising in a Patched+/- mouse treated with ultraviolet radiation and oral arsenic. Note the similarity of this tumor to that depicted in skin_137 which arose in another mouse under similar experimental conditions, however, in this case a carcinomatous component was not identified. The importance of adequate sampling of tissue is exemplified by these two cases, as the majority of the histology was indistinguishable, with the carcinomatous component only being focally present in skin_133.
