Image Annotation: Well differentiated squamous cell carcinoma arising in a squamous papilloma on the back of a Sencar mouse treated with a two-step chemical carcinogenesis protocol. This lesion (see also skin_148 and skin_151) developed in the context of a squamous papilloma, but exhibits an irregular lower edge with marked underlying stromal fibrosis (desmoplasia).
