Image Name: skin_158.tif
Image Annotation: There are five well demarcated small neoplastic areas, centered on terminal bronchioles that are lined by hyperplastic epithelium with short papillary projections. The neoplastic cells form irregular tubular-papillary undulating arrays with crowded lining epithelial cells piling up on top of one other. The cells are short columnar with oval dark eccentric (basal) nuclei and scant cytoplasm. There are many mitotic figures (80 in 10 HPF). There are occasional individual cell death mixed with necrotic debris within some of the lumens. The rest of the pulmonary parenchyma is normal.
