Image Annotation: MPD-like Myeloid Leukemia, Peripheral blood smear, 100x: WBC = 250,000/mm3 in this animal, typically 150,000-500,000/mm3. Differential typically is mostly maturing myeloid cells, with <10% monocytic cells and <5% blast forms. Often some circulating erythroid progenitors. We find the hematocrit and platelet counts of diseased mice are typically normal or even slightly elevated.
