Image Annotation: A nodule composed of atypical metaplastic squamous cells arises in a field of alveolar hyperplasia. In the surrounding mammary tissue the acini display varying degrees of cellular atypia with nuclear enlargement, hyperchromasia, and pleomorphism. There is increased mitotic activity.
