Image Annotation: Ascites fluid from a mouse with an adenocarcinoma of the surface epithelium of the ovary: the ascites fluid contains numerous neoplastic cells arranged in clusters and delicate papillae.The papillae are lined by a one cell-thick cuboidal epithelium. Neoplastic cells are small, cuboidal to polygonal, with indistinct cell borders, and a small amount of basophilic cytoplasm. Their nucleus is central, round, and hyperchromatic. Fibrin and necrotic debris intermingled with a small number of neutrophils are present at the center of the largest papilla.
