Mouse - Lung - MC02-0595.pff
Image Name: MC02-0595.pff
Image Annotation: There are multiple ill defined areas of neoplastic cells and in some areas there is a continuum from tubular papillary undulating arrays lined by single cuboidal epithelium to solid nests of stratified epithelium to lobules with layered keratinized formation some of which have variable amounts of keratin debris. The neoplastic cells are round to cuboidal with moderate amount of eosinophilic cytoplasm with indistinct borders. The nucleus is oval with stippled to vesicular chromatin and prominent small nuclei. Mitotic figures can be seen scattered through out the neoplasia (6 in ten HPF). In some adjacent areas of normal parenchyma there are moderate numbers of foamy macrophages. 3-methylcholanthrene (MCA); induced intratracheally
