Entire slide – few very small lesions can be seen. A focal lesion of epithelial hyperplasia. Hyperplastic cells are lining alveoli with single cells along alveoli. Alveoli have collapsed in some areas. The lesion is focal but not nodular as in adenomas. Uniform population of alveolar cells with moderate amount of eosinophilic cytoplasm and round nuclei. The area in the center of the lesion may represent an early area of adenoma formation with a glandular structure and solid growth pattern.
