Annotations: Adenocarcinoma, NOS.
There are multiple, variably sized, densely cellular, well demarcated, neoplastic areas scattered throughout the section. Occasionally and multifocally the neoplastic cells infiltrate the adjacent alveolar septae and there are free neoplastic cells or small aggregates in the alveolar lumen. The neoplastic areas are composed of disorganized ribbons and tubular arrays of medium sized cuboidal cells with moderate amounts of eosinophilic cytoplasm, and round to oval nuclei. There are occasional binucleated and megalokaryocytic cells some of which have moderate to severe degree of anisokaryosis. The neoplastic cells are mixed with small number of neutrophils.
