caNanoLab 1.5.2 released

caNanoLab is a data sharing portal designed to facilitate information sharing in the biomedical nanotechnology research community to expedite and validate the use of nanotechnology in biomedicine. caNanoLab provides support for the annotation of nanomaterials with characterizations resulting from physico-chemical and in vitro assays and the sharing of these characterizations and associated nanotechnology protocols in a secure fashion.

We are pleased to announce the release of the caNanoLab 1.5.2 nanotechnology portal (http://cananolab.nci.nih.gov).

caNanoLab 1.5.2 provides the following new features:
  • Support for data submission by individual researchers who log into caNanoLab
  • Creation and management of collaboration groups and the sharing of data (samples, protocols, and publications) with collaboration groups
  • Support for data review by the data curator prior to public viewing
  • Display of a data availability matrix which maps submitted data to the caNanoLab model and MinChar Standard. This feature allows users to see the level of annotations (characterizations) provided for a given nanomaterial
  • Support for the transfer of ownership of data
  • Migration to LDAP in support of user authentication
