Conditional overexpression of FGF3 upon RU486 administration Mouse was treated with RU486 at 500 ug/kg for 1 week.

Gross Morphology:

Lungs look pale and enlarged diffusely.

Method of Fixation:



Atypical adenomatous hyperplasia.
Entire slide shows diffuse lesions throughout lung around airways, perivascular and in alveoli. Perivascular, subpleural, peribronchiolar and alveolar distribution of lesions. The bronchiolar epithelium is atypical, hyperchromatic and hyperplastic. Most alveoli are lined by hypertrophic and hyperplastic cells, and cells in alveolar spaces. Lesions occur perivascular as well. Bronchiolar cells are multilayered, hyperchromatic and have lost their usual eosinophilic appearance of normal Clara cells. Lining many alveoli are a uniform population cuboidal cells sometimes forming glandular structures. Similar cells are free in the alveolar spaces. There is severe perivascular alveolar epithelial hyperplasia, with proliferative cells forming glandular structures in some areas. A few perivascular foci of lymphocytes can also be observed.
